100 Classic Novels

Out of an interest to educate, enlighten, and generally improve myself as a human being, I set a personal goal to read 100 classic novels (that I have not previously read) before I die. I am an avid reader, but I am easily distracted so I have created this page to help keep track of my progress, and remind myself of the hefty (and hopefully rewarding) trek I have ahead of me.

My Classics:

1. Black Beauty by Anna Sewell
2. Wide Sargasso Sea by Jean Rhys

I will be updating my progress on this page.  I don't have a set list that I am committed to, and am interested in reading less-known titles that could still fall under the name of 'classic literature'.  Please comment with your suggestions!

Update: March 23, 2012.
I am more than a little embarrassed to admit that I haven't read much of anything in the last year or so, never mind literary classics.  Between required reading for school, and reading a never-ending stack of pregnancy/infant/sleep books, I've gotten nowhere on my goal of reading 100 classics.

On the up-side, I am happy to report that I am several chapters into Pride and Prejudice, and although I only seem to get a few pages read at a time, I may even be able to finish it this year.  I don't know if I should be proud of that, or horrified.  For now, ten pages a night will have to do.
